GORDON ELLIOT waits at a table. Gordon is Ivy League, highbrow, erudite.
The lights dim to 10%. The actor playing Gordon walks upstage and is met by stagehands who help him off with his jacket, shirt and hand him a beanie. He walks back to the table for his date with Brook as Justin. The audience sees this transformation.
JUSTIN is unrefined but confident. Justin believes women are defenseless against his intellectual prowess.
Megan takes her Mom for her ladyscaping appointment with Frau Wurtz.
Kate, smarting from her waxing, waddles in to meet Hal on their first date.
Brook and Michael walk along the promenade on their first date.
Kate and Eric meet at a speed dating event. Kate is reluctant because of the age difference. Eric wins her over by saying, "Can't two people go out for a beer, a burger and some laughs. I know a place with a great band. Just two friends shooting the breeze."
Hal and Kate are on a second date. Eric enters the night club on a date with Brook. Kate overhears Eric recounting the night he walked her home.
Kate grows weary as she swipes left and right. She falls asleep. She finds herself in a speed dating nightmare.
